We always had a soft spot in our hearts for Brain-Teasers. When we first came across The original Tower of Babel, published by the now defunct Microprose, we were hooked. Dozens and dozens of puzzles, in a state of the art graphics engine. Now the graphics look dated, but back then they were as close to perfections as you could get. The setting for the story was a confused story about "Machines trying to get back home", but it didn't matter. The puzzles were brilliant!

So What?

We are not going to go on about how "Gaming today has lost the thought provoking, intelligence furthering qualities", or that they "don't make them like they used to". The simple fact is we loved it, so we are re-making it with the graphics powers of today's 3D hardware capabilities. Shadows, Reflections, real time lighting, advanced texturing, the lot. We would like to present it as a homage to the original. Nothing added, and hopefully nothing taken away! We hope to bring you the level editor in a split screen layout, but otherwise we shall not temper with perfection.

We hope you'll like the outcome, due for release by the end of 2005. Keep up-to-date with the progress on the news page. You can also download and play the original on the Atari emulator in the Media section.
